Public Urged to Call Ambulances Only For True Medical Emergencies

Habersham County Emergency Services:

URGENT!!!! Please if you do not have a “True Medical Emergency” do not call 911 for an ambulance. All hospitals south of Gainesville on diversion, NGMC is full but still taking ambulance patients, but wait times to off-load patients can be 1-hour or more at times for those patients who are not serious or critical. If you need help by all means call for help, but this is not the time to use the system when it’s not needed. Services are at a breaking point, so please, use the system as it’s designed to be used, for Emergencies. Minor ailments see your local physician or use a Urgent Care Center.
