Habersham County 2022 General Election Qualifying Candidates

HABERSHAM, COUNTY – Habersham County candidates considering entering the May, 2022 General Primary Election must do so before qualifying ends on March 11^th at noon.  There are two seats open on the Habersham County Board of Commissioners. Three seats are open on the Board of Education. The City of Clarkesville’s Post 5 of the City Council is up for grabs as well.

The Board of Education’s Russell Nelson (I), Kristie Dover (I), and Joey Duncan (I) are all qualified for re-election in Districts 3, 4, and 5, respectively.

Commissioners Dustin Mealor (I) of District 2 and Jimmy Tench (I) of District 3 are also qualified for re-election.

All 5 candidates are running un-opposed.

A Special Election is being held in Clarkesville following the death of council member Steven Ward and vacancy of Post 5 .
