HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. – A 63-year-old Cornelia man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday on Camp Creek Road in Demorest, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Troopers said a Toyota Tacoma was traveling south on Camp Creek Road when the driver, identified as Terry Loudermilk, failed to maintain his lane while negotiating a curve. Preliminary information indicates the vehicle left the roadway to the right before the driver overcorrected, re-entering the roadway and crossing both travel lanes.
The truck then traveled off the east shoulder of the road, struck a ditch or culvert, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side in a private yard.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Loudermilk was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol, and charges are pending.
