Former Cornelia IT Director Arrested in Investigation Into More Than $95,000 in Alleged City Theft

CORNELIA, Ga. — A former City of Cornelia Information Technology director has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged theft of more than $95,000 from the city.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Monday that Jeremy Ron Dundore, 46, of Clarkesville, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft by deception and one count of first-degree forgery.

The investigation began after the Cornelia Police Department requested GBI assistance on April 28, 2026, regarding the alleged theft of city funds.

According to the GBI, agents determined during the investigation that Dundore was responsible for the theft of more than $95,000 from the City of Cornelia.

Dundore, who previously served as the city’s IT director, was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
