10th Annual Kevin Millwood Celebrity Golf Tournament

On Friday October 7th, 2022, Major Leslie Hendrix, Captain Bryan Wright and Lieutenant Travis Jarrell played in the 10th Annual Kevin Millwood Celebrity Golf Tournament representing the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office. The Tournament is hosted by Kevin Millwood who was a former pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, The Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and the Communications Workers of America Local 3205 and all proceeds go to the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes. Our Sheriff’s Office golfers were teamed up with Olympic Silver Medalist Arthur Culbreath and together they took 1st place out of 28 teams.

Torchkids Prepared Backpacks of School Supplies

We would like to give a huge shout out to the Torchkids at The Torch Church for all of their hard work! They worked very hard on preparing lots and lots of backpacks full of school supplies for students all over Habersham County! As you can see, the Torchkids absolutely packed this patrol car.
This donation, along with other donations from the Sheriff’s Office and Family Connection allowed us to take approximately 350 backpacks full of supplies to schools throughout the county.
If you know a student or family in need of school supplies, please contact your school’s counselor. All donations during our school supply drive are spread out to every school in the county before school begins. The Sheriff’s Office, Family Connection, and The Torch hope these donations can help families in need throughout our community.
