Habersham County E911 Issues Fire Warning

Community, Outdoors, weather
Habersham County E911
INCREASED FIRE DANGER ACROSS EXTREME NORTHEAST GEORGIA FROM 11 AM EST THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON
Special Weather Statement issued December 22 at 3:58AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Temperatures reaching 55 to 60 degrees this afternoon across
northeast Georgia, along with drier air moving in on breezy west
winds, will permit relative humidity values to fall to around 25
percent or less in many locations for several hours. Winds will be
briefly gusty in the mountains late this morning and early this
afternoon, but diminish through the rest of the afternoon hours.
The dry and briefly breezy conditions will combine with drying
brush and other surface fuels to increase fire danger across the
area. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on
whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution
since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions
